3sixteen x Alpha Industries have teamed up on a military-inspired three-piece capsule collection now available via select retailers.
The collection features a reengineered M-59 Fishtail Parka that we helped develop from the ground up, alongside a garment-dyed heavyweight tee and chinos from our collection (gallery below).
All three have been given a special natural iron dye for a beautiful, irregular grey color that takes to each individual garment differently. Read more about the collaboration here, or click below to shop.
3Sixteen has debuted its second collaboration with venerable military outerwear manufacturer Alpha Industries.
The first collab - a three-piece collection of classic Alpha outerwear pieces - released in the beginning of 2018 and kicked off a series of collaborations for 3Sixteens 15-year anniversary.
For the brands sophomore effort, 3Sixteen have revisited the capsule collection idea by looping in two classic garments the brand is known for: heavyweight t-shirts and chinos.
The last piece selected in the three-piece collection was also the fastest-selling style from the first collaboration: the M-59 fishtail parka.
The practical methodology behind the capsule is to create a head-to-toe collection that highlights cornerstone pieces from both brands.
Like the first offering, the M-59 Fishtail Parka features a custom fit that has been rebuilt from the ground up to fall in line with the way the rest of the collection.
Though this time around, the arms have been slimmed out for a modern silhouette while care has been taken to preserve the atypical angles and shapes that made the Fishtail Parka so well-received.
The parka utilizes a natural undyed Herringbone Twill (HBT) for the main body and a luxurious bemberg lines the jacket – a beautiful detail you’d normally find inside a woollen coat.
Next to the Fishtail Parka, the brands have delivered a run of chino pants crafted from the same natural HBT fabric.
The Alpha x 3sixteen chinos incorporate a high-rise, roomy thigh and slight tapered leg.
Completing the pant is a military-style tyvek printed tag that is embroidered and hidden inside the waistband.
Finishing the capsule collection is a heavyweight t-shirt, identical to the standard white jersey tees in the original collection with the exception of a military tyvek printed tag sewn into the bottom left hip.
