Clarks Originals has teamed up with Carhartt WIP to release military-styled Clarks Wallabees, the boot made streetwear official by none other than New York hip hop supergroup Wu Tang Clan.
Clarks Wallabees became a streetwear staple after finding support from an unlikely source. 90s hip hop supergroup Wu-Tang Clan adopted the shoe, with members Ghostface Killah and Raekwon seen holding the shoes on the covers of the seminal albums Ironman and on Only Built for Cuban Linx.
Ghostface even released a compilation of b-sides and remixes named The Wallabee Champ. Since then Wu Tang has collaborated on several iterations of the classic silhouette.
This latest version sees the British footwear brand team up with Carhartt WIP featuring Charles F. Stead suede uppers in olive and Hamilton Brown, two of the American brands’ favorite workwear and military-inspired tones.
Woven Carhartt WIP labels are featured on the all canvas trim, while a moccasin construction, crepe wedge sole and two-eye mid-cut completes the design.
The Clarks Originals x Carhartt WIP is available for $US160 in sizes 7-13.
