For Fall/Winter 2019 Carhartt WIP has teamed up with Converse for another season to create two new variations of the iconic Chuck 70.
Carhartt teaming up with converse is a union of genuine heritage brands that have become streetwear icons.
Converse began life way back in 1908 as a rubber shoe company specialising in ‘galoshe’s. It wasn’t long before the brand began using rubber to make sneakers and in 1920, renamed its canvas basketball sneaker the “All Star.” The rest is history.
Meanwhile, Carhartt was founded by Hamilton Carhartt in 1889 in Dearborn, Michigan, to make work clothing for manual laborers. The company started out with only two sewing machines and five workers.
Today, Carhartt continues to make work clothes but has branched out into streetwear through its WIP (Work in Progress) label.
The two variants of the Chuck 70 take cues from this season’s Carhartt WIP collection, echoing key designs and fabric configurations.
Featured in the capsule is a realistic foliage camouflage and a cord-twill mix. Check them out in the gallery below.
These two styles are now available exclusively at Converse’s online shop and Carhartt WIP stores.
