Eytys has dropped a new chunky sneaker called ‘The Laser, which demonstrates how designers continue to experiment with the camouflage print in 2019.
Streetwear retailers continue to challenge the military aesthetic with new and creative variations of camouflage appearing almost every month.
Is it really any surprise? Camouflage is essentially more reflective of nature than primary colours. Only recently Stone Island, introduced a reactive camouflage that morphs in different lights.
‘Ocean Camo’ is the new variant offered up by Eytys on a chunky sneaker crafted from tumbled leather, neoprene, and synthetic materials.
The ‘Ocean Camo’ print looks like papier-mâché of human trash, which suggests the designers are making a statement about ocean pollution with this print in a bid to turn trash into treasure.
A bold silhouette, The Laser comes with cotton and calf leather inserts, added arch support, cork insoles and a padded collar and tongue emboldened with an embossed logo. It features a runner-inspired lightweight sole and reflective rope laces.
The Laser is available online or in-store for around US$450 USD.
